The 14th International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh 2021 has started in Dhaka on Saturday, January 30 under the slogan ” Future in Frames” organized by Children’s Film Society Bangladesh and will continue till February 5. We have moved to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from Public Library Shahbagh yesterday. On The sixth day of the festival Thursday, February 4, 2021 different films have been screened at National Art Gallery Auditorium, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 11 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM 6 PM. Although there is no entrance fee for watching movies at the festival, this year the coronavirus (Covid-19) and due to this, wearing a mask is being considered as a ticket to the film festival, at the time children enjoy the film by following hygiene rules. Visitors of different ages, parents and children and teenagers walked to the festival premises.
One of the most awaited sessions “Meet the Freedom Fighters” was conducted by three respectable freedom fighters respectively Quazi Sajjad Ali Zahir Bir Protik, Mashrukul Haque and Marufa Mashruk Neera at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 11 AM. Each of them shared their experiences in the Liberation War, how they fought and how the then Country’s socio-economic and political condition was. Their talks got focused on the contribution of female heroes of wartime. The young minds of our filmmakers got intensely inspired by the future insights they heard from these great personalities. The juvenile filmmakers are promising to contribute to the progress of the country with the help of the guidance and sensation imparted by the freedom fighters.
Famous cinematographer Murshed Bipul held a workshop on “Professional Light and Camera Setup” at 3 PM at National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy for our young filmmakers. Our delegates got to learn about the techniques of producing good quality images and different criteria of light setup from the instructor.
Tomorrow will be the last day of this week-long film festival. The film will be screened at 11 AM at National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The closing ceremony of the 14th International Children Film Festival Bangladesh will be started from 5 PM at the same place. The main guest of the event is Junayed Ahmed Polok, MP, State Minister of Information, Communication and Technology and the special guest is Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and many proclaimed directors and film personalities will be present to support the young filmmakers. After the prize-giving ceremony the festival will close its curtain for this year.
