Day 7: 14th Int’l Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh ends

The 14th International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh held an award-giving ceremony on 5th February 2021 at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The day was started with a film screening at 11 am at National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Then the closing ceremony of the festival was started at 5 am.

State minister for Information and communication technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky was the special guest at the closing ceremony. Director of the festival Fariha Jannat Mim anchored the event. Tenor, Trikonomiti, and Thonga these three films bagged awards as the best, second best and third best films in Child Filmmakers’ Section(Under 18) – Bangladesh. From the same section Puppetry and An Interview of A Marionette got special mention awards. The film Solo won the best film award in the Child Filmmakers’ Section (Under 18) – International. The film Maati won the Young Talent Award and the Young Talent Award Special Mention went to the local film Lottery.

A New Normal Cinema won award in Social Competition Section while the Best International Short Film Award went to Armenian film Under the Stork’s Nest.

The Best International Feature Film Award went to Dutch film Jackie and Oopjen and the Best Director Award went to Ani Oganesyan from the film Under the Stork’s Nest. Four films that got awards from the Child Filmmakers’ Section Bangladesh and International was also screened after the ceremony.

This is how the weeklong 14th International Film Festival Bangladesh ended.
