The sixth day of 11th 11th International Children’s Film Festival started with the joyful presence of school kids. At 11:00 am the student from Lake Circus School came and enjoyed the first show at Shawkat Osman Hall, Shahbag. By 2:00 students from Hakkani Mission and Dhaka Uddan Public School And College came and enjoyed the afternoon show.
Screening of full-length films
Today, four full-length films were screened at the festival. “Die Beste Aller Welten” was one of them which is made by a young filmmaker from Austria named Adrian Goiginger. This film contains a story of a kid’s true story of his life in the unusual world of his heroin addict mother and their love of each other. Another film’Disha’s Boat’ is about a 10-year-old girl Disha, who returns from school to discover her mother’s new game that changes Disha’s life towards growth, courage, and maturity. Another amazing film was screened today by a creator from Mexico “Midnight Snack.” Where before falling asleep, David looks for the midnight snack and revolves how he faces different problems. Another audience’s favorite was “Chocolate” by Soheil Movaffagh from Iran. This full-length film features Parsha, a 13-year-old who inherited a big chocolate factory from his grandfather and is about to go bankrupt and she must decide whether to sell or to run the factory. To know more you have to watch this amazing film! All these amazing films were screened at the main venue, Central Public Library on the 6th day.
Satisfaction of Juries!
One of the juries of our senior filmmaker’s section, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki participated in today’s ‘Celebrity Adda’ session. He talked about different aspects of directing films. He said that the films were beyond his expectation. He added more, he did not expect this matured and powerful films from the young filmmakers. He was overwhelmed by their participation. The session was ended by taking some group photos.
Heartwarming presence of Freedom Fighters.
Followed by Celebrity Adda another season started with three Freedom Fighter’s Alom Talukdar, Mujibor Rahman Manik, and Padma Rahman. Alom Talukdar started the session with a quote by Krishnachandra Majumdar. Then he told the audience a story about two brothers, one worker of freedom fighters and the other brother who worked for the Shanti Bahini mainly known as traitor people. Where he worked as a spy for the freedom fighters! Who can guess that the house where there is the Pakistani flag all day long is also the same place where freedom fighters come together to plan their missions. Alom Talukdar told the audience more about liberation war and freedom fighters.
Another brave freedom fighter Mujibor Rahman Manik said when he was at his teenage he only marched. Without any idea about positions, weapons, only the interest of knowing the unknown and bravery helped him keep going to learn as time went by!
On the other hand, Padma Rahman learned to nurse against all difficulties which came handy during the liberation war cause her experience saved a lot of lives. Even though war took away a lot of life and everyone went through a lot of sufferings, things took a turn for Padma Rahman. On a camp, she met Sadikur Rahman Khan and they are still together living happily. The season ended with great satisfaction of the guest and the audience.
