The curtains went down for the 12th International Children’s Film Festival on Saturday. The closing ceremony of the festival was held at the auditorium of the Central Public Library.
President of CFS, Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, renowned filmmaker and founder of CFS Bangladesh, Morshedul Islam, General Secretary Munira Morshed Munni, and festival director Mohammad Abir Ferdous, addressed the event at closing.
Muhammed Zafar Iqbal handed out certificates to the child delegates who were present on the occasion. Award-winning films were screened, following the award-giving ceremony. It came as a surprise when the current festival director, Abir Ferdous announced his retirement while Morshedul Islam hinted of a new festival director in his speech.
He said: “Today is Women’s Day and it is time for a new festival director. That is all I have to say.”
Abir thanked his team and volunteers for all their support in his speech. All the volunteers and CFS members greeted Abir with rounds of applause.
