My name is MD. Touqir Islam and I am from Rajshahi, Bangladesh. I have passed my H.S.C. in the year 2013 and now I am study on BSc cinema in Asian School of Media Studies, India. I joined ‘Children Film Society’ when I was in standard seven and after one year I made my first film ‘The life of a crow’. While remaining in the post of General Secretary of ‘Children Film Society, Rajshahi’. I have arranged a lot of film festivals.
Among my productions there are nine short films, five documentary films, one ad film and two festival logo films which are Youth Film Festival, Bangladesh’s logo film and the logo film of the 7th International Children’s Film Festival, Bangladesh. I have received two National Awards in 5th and 6th International Children Film Festival Bangladesh for my two short films ‘The unit’ and ‘Gol o jog’. The duration of ‘Gol o jog’ was 15 minutes and was captured in a single short. Suddenly ‘Gol o jog’ attend in Alpaviram, South Asian Film Fest in a competition category and also received Best short film (jury), in Indian Cine Film festival, 2014.
I was the jury in the 7th International Children’s Film Festival, Bangladesh and Festival programmer of Youth Film Festival, Bangladesh powered by Movies That Matter, Netherlands. I have attended many film making workshops, last one of them was the Residential Film Making Workshop of First Light which was arranged by the British Council. Besides these I am also connected to various cultural organizations and have participated in many cultural competitions from my childhood.
